- Abstract
The research aims to evaluate the cognitive coping strategies used by teenagers and young adults after the end of a romantic relationship and the influence of the decision-making capacity over the use of these strategies. I have used The Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire and The Decisional Capacity Assessment Test (COGNITROM Cluj). The resulting data show that the cognitive coping strategies used after the end of a romantic relationship vary according to age, gender and level of decision-making capacity of the subjects. We consider it necessary, at national level, to implement programs of psychological intervention to learn adaptive cognitive coping strategies, thus, giving healthy alternatives to teenagers and young adults to face the challenges of life.
